Picture Books and Children's Theater

A narrative in every word and image.
A narrative in every word and image.
Thank you visiting. I’m a teacher in Queens, published poet and freelance journalist. I write and take photos whenever something interesting nudges me to do so. Compressed moments suspended between here….and there are of interest. I’ve thought a lot about what compels me to reach for a pencil or the camera. I describe this experience, as best I can, in a poem called “The Visitor on Arthur Avenue.” It’s about seeing something unexpected; an hallucination that immediately slips away. On this website, your are welcome to license photos and original plays for youth theater. I’ve priced them to be affordable.. Art is for everyone. Deep within, I hope we have a connection. My favorite photographer David LaChapelle said his pieces weren’t complete until there was an audience. Today you are my audience. Thanks for visiting. Sincerely, Jane Lake
Not sure how I feel about my photos exponentially outpacing my restaurant reviews on social media. Pleasantly surprised?
