Thank you visiting. I’m a teacher in Queens, published poet and freelance journalist. I write and take photos whenever something interesting nudges me to do so. Compressed moments suspended between here….and there are of interest. I’ve thought a lot about what pushes me to reach for the camera. I describe this experience, as best I can, in a poem called “The Visitor on Arthur Avenue.” It’s about seeing yourself during a flash of inspiration; an hallucination that immediately slips away. On this website, your are welcome to buy and collect photos that please you. I’ve priced them to be affordable for mix-and-match and framing to your taste. Art is for everyone. Deep within, I hope we have a connection. My favorite photographer David LaChapelle said his pieces weren’t complete until there was an audience. You are my audience. Thank you for completing these photos. Sincerely, Jane Lake
Not sure how I feel about my photos exponentially outpacing my restaurant reviews on social media. Pleasantly surprised?
